Felony Drug Cases Resolved with Reduced Prison Term
Client faced two felony drug cases involving allegations of methamphetamine possession and transportation and sales, along with a prior felony conviction. After presenting mitigation concerning the client's addiction, limited criminal history, and personal circumstances, as well as exposing weaknesses in the State's case, counsel negotiated a global resolution reducing the stipulated prison term from three years to two years, followed by probation. The resolution substantially reduced the client's prison exposure while preserving an opportunity for treatment and continued rehabilitation upon release.
